Let’s see if WordPress works on this blog. Yes, it appears to be working here. The horizontal toolbar appears on this post but it does not appear in the other blog.

I will try posting the screenshots of my problems in the other blog.

I am trying to make a major post with text and photo blocks. I am trying various formats, which requires deleting what doesn’t work. But the horizontal toolbar at the top of my work area has disappeared along with the delete option. It was there when I started work about an hour ago but now it’s gone. In addition, when I publish my post ‘so far’ to see what it looks like, there should be an option at the bottom of the page to Customize or Edit. It is not there anymore. I made three screenshots to show what I mean but I see no option to attach them to this message.

I wanted to make the heading smaller but there was no option. Nor could I delete it.

I clicked to make a three-column layout grid and those three block (red circle) attached themselves to the existing photos. I wanted to make them “full width,” but the option did not appear. The only option that appeared was the box that shows. When I tried to adjust the existing photos, the horizontal toolbar would not appear. Nothing happened when I clicked on them.

When I published my post, I could not Edit. The option should have appeared at the bottom right corner (red circle). To edit the post, I had to go to dashboard, select All Posts, then choose this one and select Edit. But then I ran into another set of problems re link described in my forums thread at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/missing-functions/.
Post Script
After publishing this post, the Edit function did not appear, either, at the bottom right corner. I had to go through the Dashboard/Post/All Posts route, too.

Answers in the forum solved most problems but not all. I published/updated my article but it didn’t actually publish. I show in screenshots below. Screenshot 1 shows what it should look like. Caption explains.
Screenshots 2 & 3 show two remaining problems; captions explain.
