Can dogs have chocolate? Why or why not?
Sarah Bowman, trained my problem rescue dog for safe walking in crowded public spaces
My vet’s office gave me this website to check what’s poison for my dog: Pet Poison Helpline | Animal Poison Control Center
. There is an enormous amount of information here. To find out if chocolate is poison, click on “Poison List” at the top of the page, then “Foods” on the left side, then look under “C.” I find chocolate there. Click on it to find out why you should not feed your dog chocolate.
You can in the same way check out many other household products and plants your pet might encounter.
To find out why dogs should not eat human food, go to the home page. Click on “Top Five Pet Food Questions” on the left.
